Team Rafiki continues development of self-sustaining projects in Tanzania A group of volunteers known as Team Rafiki gets together with the African Reflections Foundation to continue development of self-sustaining projects in Tanzania. "Rafiki- Rafiki means friends, when we started this we needed to come up with a team name and since we were going to Tanzania, we said what does friends mean Swahili? That's the language they speak there and it happens to be Rafiki. And that's how that name came about,” said John Tamoshunas, Team Rafiki member. Team Rafiki collected 600,000 dollars worth of supplies, all of which went directly to helping the people of Tanzania. The donations they've been gathering should reach Africa in about a month and a half. |
